Acer LaptopLJ on 02-01-2010 Laptop I bought an Acer laptop in the Fall of 2008, it wasn't a month after i had bought it that it Blue Screened and began to have serious issues with freezing up. The following summer I sent it to Acer in BC and they had "fixed" it, and nothing changed for me, it still blue screened, adn froze constantly. Christmas of 2009 I took it to the retailer who found the problem but the cost would be out of my pocket, so i had them "fix" it too. Nothing has changed, if anything it has gotten worse. Never buying an Acer again. This dude is the gay lover of the dude listed below; and they both blow!;)
Acer LaptopEJ on 12-23-2009 Laptop OMG, don't buy an Acer laptop! I got screwed by their (lack of) support people. Bought an Aspire 8730, and found that it had a defective right shift key. Acer makes the customer pay to have it shipped to them for repair, so I paid UPS $50US and sent it to them. They sent it back to me saying that there was nothing wrong with it! I'm not a newbie. I know how a keyboard is supposed to work. Everyone I've ever let type on it has said the same thing: "What's wrong with the shift key?". The last thing I wanted to do was to pay to ship it right back to them and have absolutely no guarantee that they would actually fix it. So I hung on to it and tried to make do by buying an external keyboard. Now, the "x" key is failing too, so I called them. They said that since I didn't send it back within 60 days (or 90, or 30 depending on which rep I contacted), I would indeed have to pay to ship it to them again. I pointed out that there was no notification of such a time limitation, and was told that there is no notification because it's "a courtesy". I pointed out that first, they sold me a defective laptop, then their service was defective because they failed to detect the fault, and now they want me to pay to ship it again. Why should I do that? They didn't fix it the first time. Why should I believe that they would fix it this time? It's their fault that they didn't fix it the first time I shipped it, & it should be their responsibility to pay to ship it this time. So I've contacted a local television station's consumer advocate, and am beginning a search to find others who have had to put up with this type of "service". When I do, it'll be time to contact a lawyer about a class action lawsuit. This dude is totally full of shit!
Acer LaptopDo not buy Acer. There is no support. They do not honor the warranty. You can not get parts. They are assembled from what ever surplus parts that are cheapest that day. When you try to repair by replacing the part they used, if it was identified, it will not be available. DVD drives are not available, for example. Avoid all their products. They are cheap for a reason.
ToshibaOkay, so Toshiba were the very first laptop I had. The first one I had worked fine until, the screen brooke. Appartently it wasn't sturdy enough for me and my brother to have. This second one only work on safe mode.
Hp PavilionHP Pavilion DV2 1003AX simply sucks to the MAX. My experience with it was the dark time of my life. Buy, Use, REGRET, CURSE, and finally sell it away mud cheap.
Acer LaptopFor those that slammed ACER tell me how ACER came to be #2 laptop Seller. Many must like them.

Hp PavilionHP dv 8000 and 9000 are the worst laptops made period. Our business bought 3 and have had NOTHING but problems with them. We send them at least 3 times a year to be fixed!! And the customer support / customer service is atrocious!!!
Hp PavilionI bought an HP Pavilion dv5000 in the summer of 2007. It is now 2009-2010 and I'm shopping for a new laptop already. Twice it has had a "one-in-one thousand" issues that were both, luckily though telling of it's durability-time, covered under warranty. I have a five minute battery life now, and simple systems run terribly slow. Not buying an HP again.
Are there any laptops with matte screens except lenovo out there and are they any good? if not what is the best laptop out there now? what's the best laptop????
Sony VaioHi, what's is the best sony laptop? please help........

ToshibaDO NOT buy a Toshiba Satelite I just bought a Toshiba lap top from Best Buy for $299. The mouse pad on the laptop sticks and jumps all over the page and doesn't follow your finger. I cannot use this laptop I have a mouse hooked up to it. The battery life is less than 2 hours. SUCKS!!!
