This is a really great laptop. Granted, I have had this unit for about 2 years and it has performed flawless. The one thing I love about the Tecra's is the center finger trackball or finger pointer. It has a finger pad, but I honestly hate them. The systems fast and I have had no problems with it. I did have the fan go out and the system was getting hot, but turn around time was quick. I will purchase another tecra model in the future and I hope toshiba continues to keep the finger pointer in these models. The point of a laptop is to be mobile; no need to drag a usb mouse around. Considering upgrading to another Tecra soon; But the finger pointer is the number one reason why I would get it again. There is a problem with the M5's though. The encryption chip does not work on these models; even though it is built in sometype of problem prevents it from working correctly so if you plan on keeping extremely important information on it and need encryption you might think twice. The M5 has a nice design, finger scanner for login is a must have and is a nice feature. No web cam, but I don't care for one anyway. Clear screen, 160gb drive, 2 gigs Ram, and a decent video card. For a business laptop the Tecra models are good choice; 3 thumbs up.
