Toshiba Portege R705-P25-Good in Design and Performance
The Portege R series from Toshiba has always delivered devices that balanced design with performance in the most suitable manner. Toshiba Portege R705-P25 is a member of the series and one of the popular devices of the year 2010. It is a slim design, but durable at the same time. The magnesium alloy finish speaks aloud for the fineness that has always been a part of this family.
Portege R705-P25 runs on a 2.26GHz Intel Core i3 processor that speeds up the overall performance of the device. A 13.3 inch LED display of resolution 1,366 x 768 is packed in the design. The Toshiba Laptop display is good for viewing, but could have been better. The keyboard with island style keys is goof for typing experience, but the fact that it is not backlit is disappointing. Touchpad impresses with its big size, as a 13-inch device is not expected to have a big touchpad.
A 4 GB DDR3 RAM and 500 GB of hard drive are other features of this laptop. One of the three USB ports included in the design is USB/eSATA. Besides, one can find an SD card slot and an HDMI output port as well. The built-in Intel Wireless Display transmitter is worth applause, but the fact that there is no Netgear adapter accompanying the Laptop certainly disappoints.
There is 802.11n Wi-Fi and there is Ethernet, but there is no Bluetooth, as far as network connectivity is concerned. Portege R705-P25 offers solid value and is a good looking device. And, it performs well in the category of 13-inch devices.
