About Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 Laptop
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 is scheduled to be released on Feb 2009. The initial specs hinted by the Lenovo people have indicated that the entire Y series will be centered on providing people with enhanced Multimedia experience. In a press release, the Lenovo claimed that the Y550 will satisfy the needs of not one or two groups of people.
They are aiming to provide multimedia entertainment, Gaming entertainment, and Enhanced Internet Experience in addition to the regular features of the IdeaPad. Thus the IdeaPad is ideal for people of all age groups. And to grab a substantial portion of the laptop market, the Lenovo Y550 is priced lower than similar laptops of other brands.
The display of Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 is approx 16 inches with 16:9 wide NTSC style pixels. The max resolution will give you an impression of the clarity it promises. The maximum resolution that the display can reach is 1366 x 768 with 24 bit color depth.
Based on Intel Centrino II, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 contains the Intel Dual Core 64 bit processor for that extra fast computing. It holds a local cache that can incorporate up to 6 MB of data. The total RAM can be 4GB, while the HDD is a Serial ATA offering a storage of 500 GB. In addition to these, there are a range of internet connectivity features including the wireless NIC.
