Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 14 Better Performance than Predecessor
Lenovo came up with its new series of laptop called Thinkpad Edge in the beginning of 2010, with a 13.3-inch model as the first member. Now, the manufacturer has come up with second member of the family called Thinkpad Edge 14 which promises better performance than its predecessor. Though, the overall design of Edge 14 is quite close to its elder sibling.
What Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 14 packs in is a fast performing 2.2 GHz Intel Core i3 M330 processor. One may also choose to upgrade the processor to an Intel Core i5 CPU. The graphics support for the laptop is offered by Intel GMA HD. The laptop has a 4 GB DDR3 memory and 250 GB of hard drive. The most important highlight of the laptop is that it Lenovo has finally added a DVD drive to this design.
For a 14 inch Laptop, one expects the weight to be less. However, the device weighs 5.1 pounds which adds to its slightly undesirable features. One can make the choice of this Laptop in glossy black or red color. Also, the silver band trim adds to the overall looks of the new Edge member.
Edge 14 has a good keyboard layout and a fingerprint reader as well. The 14-inch display offers the resolution of 1,366x768 pixels which makes the laptop superior than many other 14-inch portable computers. The laptop has all types of ports, including 3 USB ports, a VGA port, an HDMI port and a SD card reader. For network connectivity, the device relies upon 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Ethernet, though Bluetooth is missing.
Low starting price is one feature that makes Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 14 popular among its targeted audience.
