For those who use a laptop as their main computer, or tend to carry out a variety of medium-level tasks, the ThinkPad T30 is a perfect choice. Equipped with a 2 GB Pentium-IV processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 16MB Radeon 7500 ATI Mobility video chipset and 40GB of hard disk capacity, it is equally well suited for working with text documents, listening to music, watching movies and light gaming. With another 512 MB of RAM and possible a video card upgrade, medium-level gaming would also be possible on this beauty.
The laptop comes with a CD-RW / DVD drive, packed into its compact 5.33 lb, 1.4” thick body. Despite its lightness, the ThinkPad is sturdily built, and comes with a 14.1” display that offers 1024x768 resolution with excellent performance.
For networking needs, there is an inbuilt 56k modem and a 10/100 Ethernet card. The two USB 1.1 ports allow you to use pen drives, external hard drives, USB mouse etc with ease and impunity, while the VGA port gives you more flexibility with display and projectors. The headphone jack and microphone let you record and listen to music, while the computer’s processor also allows for minor editing on music softwares.
The ThinkPad T30 laptop also has a type III PC card slot, which can also accommodate two Type II PC cards. Its Lithium ion battery offers decent backup when the laptop is not connected to an A/C power supply.
