About Dell Inspiron Mini 12 Laptop
‘Thin is in’, not just with pretty girls, the case’s similar even with the laptop models. With Inspiron Mini 12 at 0.92 inch, Dell has reached its thin-best. It may not race ahead of MacBook Air (which is 0.76 inch in thickness) but those extra 16 something inches fetches Dell more ports that includes 3 USB ports, 3 in 1 card reader, a VGA out, and a headphone and microphone outlet. By the way, the laptop weighs just about 2.7 pounds.
The keyboard is sufficiently large and has the trademark row of function keys seen in many of the Dell laptops. The 12.1 inch WXGA display is bright with glossy exterior casing and facilitates for better viewing in comparison to 10 inch notebooks. The 6-cell battery provides a good battery life. The laptop uses the Z-series Intel Atom processor and Intel’s low power Poulsbo chipset. This is smart on the ‘power consumption’ criterion but that makes the system run a Vista in 1GB memory, which is an open invitation to the ‘laptop tantrums’ in future. The MINI 12 has a 60 or 80 GB hard drive (if its Vista, it’ll consume it almost entirely!) and it foregoes a solid state flash drive for it. Overall, its just an average notebook. We’ve ThinkPad X300 and other better options too!
