ASUS, a Taiwanese company and one of the leading laptop manufacturers of the world, is consistently putting up great products one after the other. This time around, it's the turn of the X59 series.
The Family Members
ASUS is widely renowned for coming out with really cool laptops at extremely competitive prices. The X59 Series family is made up of two primary models, the X59GL - AP007C and the X59SL - AP338C.
The Features
The X59 series laptops are equipped with genuine Windows Vista operating system and 2.0GHz Intel Core2 Duo Processor and a 1.3 megapixel swivel web camera.
- X59GL - AP007C: It contains 15.4" WXGA widescreen display, NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G shared and 250GB SATA hard drive.
- X59SL - AP338C: It contains 15.4" WXGA widescreen display, 320GB SATA hard drive, 256MB dedicated graphics memory and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470.
The X59 Series laptops have a 3GB system memory, being limited by the limitations of the 32-bits operating system. They can be expanded up to 4GB. The X59 Series laptops are equipped with ASUSDVD V7.0 and 6-in-1, Media@Show V3.0, Power Director V5.0, Trusted Platform Module (TPM), Duplex and 3D effect enabled Integrated Intel High Definition Audio Chip (Azalia), integrated 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth V2.1, Norton Internet Security 2008 and advanced ASUS utility features like ASUS SmartLogon, Power4Gear eXtreme, CopyProtect, Net 4 switch, Live Update, Multi-Frame, Life Frame 3, Wireless Console and a string of similarly exciting utilities.
The weight of the laptop is around 2.6 kg (with 6-cell battery). The battery is a standard Lithium-Ion battery rated at 4400/4800 mAh. Other cool features include Windows keys, compliant BaseT and MDC fax/modem, external 512MB VRAM, TouchPad, Kensington Lock Hole, HDD User Password Protection/BIOS Booting and security lock.
