Asus U2 Series
This is what they mentioned in the press release when the ASUS people launched the U2 series. They call it a marriage of form and functionality as it is all set to set a benchmark in the fusion of design and powerful computing.
The Exterior
The exterior of the Asus U2 Series is all steel frames. The frame and the associated copper etch with the leather finish looks as if it has been hand polished. The polish is there to stay unless you use the laptop roughly. The sleek and slim device is available in the copper and black color that is scratch resistant.
The Inner Side
The lid and the base of the computer give an impression as if they were joined by cufflinks at the hinges. The touchpad is positioned in such a way that it won’t be a problem in typing. You can type keeping your eyes on the keyboard. There is ample place for palm rest so that your hands do not experience the strain while typing. The touchpad is fully customizable, so much so that you can program it to run programs directly without having to click any icon. The keyboard employs feather touch keys so you need not spend much energy on the keys.
The base of the computer also incorporates speakers. Depending on the model, you get stereo speakers or a surround sound system of up to 5.1 speakers with a sub woofer.
Power of Computing
The ASUS U2 is powered by Intel core Duo Processor starting from 1.6 GHz, with a memory of 2 GB that can be expanded up to 4 GB if required. This means increased speed. The Duo core allows you to run several programs that demand high usage of the CPU at the same time. Why don’t you log on to a gaming site as the anti-virus checks up your machine for any malware? You will not face any problems with your gaming nor will the functionality of other programs.
The tried and tested TPM module comes in-built that encodes your keystrokes as you type so that it becomes impossible for the hackers to gain entry to your system. Among other security features is the Finger Print Reading Technology. This means enhanced safety as no one except you can use the computer.
Display and Camera
The laptop comes with an 11-inch backlit led display. The picture quality is real-life. Just above the display is the camera that you can use to capture videos and pictures. You can also use the camera as a webcam for video conferencing. The camera is capable of capturing even the finest details so make sure you are properly dressed when on a video conference. The people on the other side will feel as if you are sitting right in front of them. Next to the camera, two microphones are cleverly hidden so that nobody can easily notice them.
