ASUS N20 Series
The ASUS N20 is not considered a series but part of the N series. The notebook computer is powered by the Intel Duo Core Processor of up to 2.4 GHz. This means you can easily multitask on the computer. You may play games while running the disk defragmenter both of which demand high CPU usage. However, the N20 is capable of handing all the multitasking with good capabilities.
Inside the Laptop
The Interior of the laptop is based on the Intel Centrino Mobile technology, making it ideal for rough usage. The laptop runs on AC power as well as the six cells Lithium batteries. You can use the laptop for up to 8 hours on a fully charged battery. It takes around 6 to 8 hours to fully charge the batteries.
Apart from the processor, you can get a RAM of up to 4 GB of RAM starting from 2 GB. However, 2 GB is not enough if you want to experience real time gaming so it is recommended that you go for full capacity of 4 GB. The external permanent storage is virtually unlimited as the notebook supports almost every plug and play storage units from major brands. The inbuilt HDD is a removable one that can hold 320 GB of data. The HDD is SATA enabled. To use the SATA feature, it is recommended that you use Windows Vista as it can differentiate between the SATA and the normal ATA HDDs. The Windows OS versions prior to the Vista cannot use SATA functionality without the use of third party RAID drivers.
The Camera and Display
The ASUS N20 Series incorporates a 2MP camera over the display. The camera can serve as a webcam, a normal digital camera, and a video camcorder. You can use it in any of the way you want. You can also use the webcam for video conferences. However, before plugging into the video conference, brush up a little because the camera is very sensitive and catches everything. You may optionally go for a 1.3 MP camera.
You may capture SDVD quality motion with the help of preloaded software. Once recorded the movie or video can be stored on the local disk, uploaded, or edited and viewed on the laptop or on your HDTV using the TV out card.
The display in the N20 is not very big. It offers only 12.1-inch display. However, the display is powered by the Intel GMA technology for faster refresh rates. It supports millions of colors with 24-bit color depth that allows it to produce true to life images. The maximum resolution one can reach on the N20 is 1200 by 800.
