About ASUS G71 Laptop
The marketing tagline seems very impressive and in fact, it’s the truth that the Asus G71 is the world’s first Quad notebook. The hype surrounding the ‘world’s first thing’ managed to keep the gamers anticipating curiously for this piece of machine, but gamers are gamers and they aren’t here to praise stuffs without actually playing it (read using it!).
Here’s a specs list of sorts of the latest upgrade to the Asus G/gaming series laptops. Let’s start with the newsmaker- the laptop is powered by the Intel’s new QX9300 quad core processor. The laptop open up to a fine 17 inch crystal shine display and for the graphics-it’s the GeForce 9700M GT GDDR3 512 MB graphics card by nVidia. This graphics card is customizable up to 4 GB of system memory and 1TB (that’s Tera bytes= Giga x Kilo, for those who are wondering what it is) of hard disk space. The G71 is also equipped with an integrated webcam and an ‘Eee stick’, which is a piece of little equipment for gaming (something of the kind of ‘eyetoy’ by Sony).
The machine is great and every gamer would love to have such a machine in his kitty. But all the goodness rots, when one come to know the price of the G71. The machine is for sure, overpriced and that’s a major letdown for many. Its almost $800 more than the previous gaming laptops of Asus and the improvements aren’t worth $800 (at least by the customer’s perspective).
