About ASUS G70Sg Laptop
Along with a laptop G71, Asus launched the Asus G70Sg recently. Basically, the laptop is an enhancement (supposedly) of Asus’s earlier gaming laptop. True to their words, the designers do come up with some enhancement on the technical front, but the pricing is where the pitfall lies.
The laptop is powered by a 2.6 GHz Intel core 2 duo processor with an L2 cache of 6 MB. The WUXGA display (it’s an active matrix TFT color LCD) is sufficiently wide at 17” and the graphics is good too with nVidia’s 1 GB GeForce 9800 GTS. With two memory slots, the maximum memory of the DDR2 SDRAM is 4 GB. Along with a standard size keyboard, the laptop sports a touch pad and an in-built camera. The de facto operating system of this laptop is Windows Vista Home Premium x64.
The laptop is good on performance, but this supposed enhancement of Asus’s previous gamer laptop could have been much better in technicalities. Probably, Asus plans to launch it later and till then want to pacify the market with this product.
The cons of this laptop maybe a few of them here and there (and every laptop has to compromise on something or the other)! But there’s a serious blunder done by Asus and that’s the pricing. For the price it’s sold at, gamers will and surely should expect a lot more than what is being offered. The word’s out to Asus- give us more or take a bit less!
