About Alienware M17 Laptop
The usual reviews would take the reader, rounds around the technical specifications before actually divulging into the explanation in understandable language. Now, lest not the tech-conscious feel neglected, here are the specifications of Alienware M17 – The processor is a 2.26 GHz Intel core 2 duo P8400, the hard drive has a good capacity of 160 GB with 7200 RPM and to speak about the memory; it’s a 3 GB 1066 MHz DDR2. The chipset is the Intel P45 and the graphics is courtesy, ATI mobility Radeon HD3870 (yes, they’ve sacrificed Nvidia for ATI). The laptop doesn’t lack behind any other laptop in the desktop replacement category and has all the features in tact like the DVD burner, Bluetooth, expresscard expansion slot, Ethernet, modem, VGA-out, HDMI-out, 3 USB ports, SD card reader, miniFirewire, optical out, digital out, eSATA port, the usual microphone jack, integrated ATSC TV tuner 802.11 b/g/n wireless and so on.
At a price range of $1399-$1999, the laptop stands as a pretty fair mix of performance and value of cost. The laptop takes away applauses for the optional quad core CPU’s and dual ATI GPU’s. However, it fails to impress in the design. No, the design isn’t yuck! It’s just that there’s nothing new and exciting in the design. Finally, the battery life is just 2 hours and that’s mediocre for a desktop replacement notebook.
