Ideal for carrying around, the Acer Travelmate 6493 weighs just 5 and half pounds. It is a slim body laptop with a height of only 1.6 inches. The exterior of the laptop is either Silver-Gray or Shiny-Black depending upon your choice.
It is another computer from Acer that focused more on business chores rather than entertainment, the model incorporates data security features such as the FingerPrint Reader Technology and TMP chip as well as connectivity features such as the WLAN and Bluetooth points.
The model runs on Intel Dual Core 64 bit Processor that can achieve a speed of 2.5GHz. The speed is slightly enhanced due to the use of L2 cache of 3MB and the Intel Dynamic Acceleration (TM) Technology. Acer Travelmate 6493 is shipped with 4GB RAM which is the max capacity of the model.
It also includes a portable permanent storage in form of SATA controlled HDD that can hold data up to 250 GB. The unit has an integrated DVD RW and a 5 in one card reader that can read most of the branded cards. The laptop is compatible with a range of external plug and play storage devices.
