The Acer TravelMate 2480 is the first existing model of the travelamate series. This Acer TravelMate 2480 is suitable for Web surfing, basic office productivity, and light multitasking. This system runs on the operating systems Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Home Basic. For processing it uses a 1.6GHz Intel Celeron M 520 Processor. As per memory is concerned Acer TravelMate uses the 512MB of DDR2 RAM. For graphics it uses integrated Intel 950 graphics. The user can also read and write CDs and play DVDs using its combo drive.
The Acer TravelMate 2480 uses a 80 GB Hard Diskwith Acer DASP (Disk Anti-Shock Protection). Acer laptop uses a 14.1 inch WXGA (1280 x 800) TFT LCD, which contains up to 16.7 million colors. The Acer TravelMate 2480 has a curved keyboard that makes it different from similar price range systems. The 88-key Acer FineTouch keyboard has a five-degree curve, inverted T cursor layout, hotkey controls, embedded numeric keypad, 2.5mm minimum key travel and international language support. For the security purposes it has Kesington lock slot, user administrator and BIOS passwords. It uses 65-watt AC adapter and six-cell lithium ion battery which has a good life, up to 2.5 hours. The Acer TravelMate 2480 is an economy notebook for the users who do not want to spend so much for mobile computing.
