I also get the White Screen. I have not had this computer for long however I will have to purchase another soon as I use it for business and need it daily.

We have bought 2 of this model for our university, both have "white scren of death" problems. At starup screen goes white instead loading windows or when you work screen goes suddenly white. What is strange, when screen goes blank if you connect dataprojector you can still see normal screen projected. Same with external monitor. I dont know if it is software or hardware problem, reinstalling windows didnt help.

I bought an acer after my $1200 hp failed after a year and hp quoted me $600 or so to fix it. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, especially after only spending $580. I tote this computer to and from school and also use it at home, so it travels a lot. I have not had any problems and have now have the laptop for over a year.
To everyone that has problem with customer service, I haven't tried to call acer, but dell and hp have horrible customer service also, probably along with most electronic companies, I haven't found a helpful one yet. My advice is buy from a retailer that will actually help you (costco and sams club are great in my experience, always helpful to fix the problem or replace it).
In the future I would buy another acer, unless I can warrant spending $2000 on a mac.

The machine works well but there are "white screen" issues with this model. Mine has been in for warranty work twice on this problem and I have heard of several of this model having the same problem. The screen goes white instead of to Windows.
