Dont buy 6530 Series there's an error in the build and your laptop wont hold more than a year.. I used this laptop and played couple of soft games (fps) and it isnt that bad but as I said you'll get a problem.. Such as Freeze, Blue Screen (Got it twice) and then your comp will close and you wont be able to turn it on after that. Im lucky I had one day left on warranty.. Still waiting.. I'll get better version this times.. Dont forget >>NEVER BUT THIS SERIES

DO NOT BUY THIS CHEAP LAPTOP! IT HAS A DESIGN ERROR! The hard disk is working at 54C. This is not visible on performance, but in time the Hard disk will die. It happen to me! This will cost you another 100$, but the data from hard disk you loose can't be bought! So be prepared and made some backups. Use a laptop cooler to keep your hard disk cooler and working under normal temperature limits (bellow 50C) ACER Support is also a disaster!

By the way, I had my new laptop "optimized" by the Geek Squad at Best Buy. Cost me maybe $40, and it was well worth it. They removed all the promo stuff by Acer and when I turn on my laptop, it goes right to my desktop screen, ready to use.

I gave up an old desk top for this Acer Aspire 6530 laptop, and I got it at Best Buy. I got a really fine deal on it. I am VERY pleased with my new laptop. I researched for about 2 years, and asked hundreds of questions at tech stores. Bottom line is, no matter how much you pay for a PC or laptop, they will be outdated in about 2 - 3 years. So, why would I spend a lot of money when I could have all the options for a really fine price??!! I am not a kid, I'm a mature adult, with the determination to take special care of my computer. This laptop will do just fine, and in 2 - 3 years, I expect to buy a new laptop. I will do the same thing then. I will look for a unit with as many bells & whistles as I can get, and for as low a price as I can find. (I waited till Best Buy had their back-to-school specials that included the laptop, carrying case, usb mouse, and a 3-in-1 Canon color printer. All for just under $400!!). I confess I was a bit concerned at not buying an expensive brand, but this laptop is wonderful!! I made an excellent choice, and would do it again.

I bought this laptop since more than one year. After one month the hard disk drive died... so I was bought another one. In meantime, after one year of intensive use, I'm using it all day long at work and home, my primary hard disk is full. I was thinking to buy another one and use it as a secondary hard disk drive. They wrote on specifications:One or two large Serial ATA hard discs. So... I was bought a new hdd, unscrew the cover of 2nd HDD location, mount the hdd, and when I was try to close the cover back... surprise!!!...the cover can't be closed with hdd mounded inside. I was asking for support and their answer is this: "Thank you for contacting Acer. I apologize for the inconvenience that you have experienced. I am sorry that i am unable to help you in this scenario"

I bought this laptop when it was on sale at Best Buy. I had an acer before, But it ultimately crapped out on me. I have been very pleased by the performance and how solid this one is built. While its size can be off puttign sometimes, i can get used to it. The battery seems to run down very quickly. But thats excuseable sonsidering its large screen and advanced hardware. Overall i have been very impressed by this laptop and would reccomend it to anyone else looking for a solid laptop.

I brought this laptop a few months ago and must say how pleased I am with it. Start up is a bit annoying with all acer ad but they should be easy to remove. I did lose use of my Blue Ray player and had to restore to factory settings. Possibly it was an error on my part. I have also found that the battery seems to go down quickly, but as I do not use it outside it is not a problem for me but could possibly be a nuisense if you need it on the go. Overall very happy

That Linda was something known as the "blue screen of death" which is common in computers with a vista OS. I think it's ur OS that is buggered. ^_^....man i hate vista. Also i am having further troubles with my lappy. Whenever in play a game on it the stupid lappy seems to want to turn off. Must be the fan. ^_^

IT WAS MY SONS 1ST LAPTOP. WE BOUGHT IT FROM BEST BUY AND IT WAS GREAT UNTIL ABOUT ALMOST A MONTH IT DIED COULD NOT STAY ON COULD NOT EVEN BOOT UP. BLUE LIGHT CAME ON FOR A SEC AND THEN SHUT OFF. WE DID NOT BUY A SVC AGREEMENT W/BEST BUY BUT WE TOOK IT DOWN TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AND THEY COULD NOT SERVICE IT. THEY SUSPECT ITS THE MEMORY BUT NEVER FOUND OUT WE GOT OUR MONEY BACK.

I was rather impressed with it's capabilities. It can take quite a beating although my fullstop key fell off for no reason in perticular. Nice performance and settings switch(Empowering technology) could do with a better graphics card. Also has a dodgy wireless card in my opinion. One thing i find extremely ennoying is the keyboard ash and dust and all sorts gets stuck in it, however it is a nice laptop. ^_^
